Hardware requirements
The demo should run on a CPU with 1 Ghz and a GF2-class graphicscard, as long as you have working OpenGL-drivers installed (those coming with WindowsXP are stripped of OpenGL-Support). If you want to see it in all it's glory (with dynamic shadows turned on), then you should have at least 2.5 Ghz and a modern (Radeon 9700 or better) graphics card. If the demo runs too slow (below 30 fps), please turn of shadows and switch to a lower screen resolution. Tested on :
Athlon XP 2600+ / Radeon 9700 - Playable at 1024x768 with shadows on
Athlon 1,3GHz / GeForce 4 Ti4400 - Playable at 1027x768 without shadows
Controls
Cursor keys Move car
F Flip car
R Reset car to next spawn position
A Switch between autogearing (default and manual gearing)
Numpad 1 Switch to next gear
Numpad 0 Switch to previous gear. If you're in first gear, this switches to the reverse gear
Right shift Hold down when accelerating to apply a huge torqueboost to the car
S Switch realtime shadow volumes on and off (note : those drag your framerate down a lot!)
P Pause/Unpause physics simulation
F1 Camera fixed above the car (mousewheel to zoom)
F2 Camera following the car from behind (use mouse to rotate and mousewheel to zoom). Press again when in this camera mode to reset the camera.
F3 Cockpit camera
F4 Set car's drive type to front wheels
F5 Set car's drive type to back wheels
F6 Set car's drive type to 4WD
F9 Reset all dynamic objects (may take some seconds to stablize them)
Escape Quit demo
